Holiday Reading.
Hello Everyone!
Well this term I am officially finished my Sociology degree at the University of Waterloo. This leaves me with my next target: consideration on whether to go after the Bachelor of Social Work. BSW. When I think of all things I have done over the years I wonder because at this rate I have achieved something nobody thought I could (this I get to laugh at because when I was in high school 4 years ago nobody thought I could have pulled off OAC let alone University).
That isn't entirely accurate, actually this left me a feeling of satisfaction after the years of writing thesis papers and various assignments and reading and spending time (and money!) over textbooks, as every student can attest, this was no simple thing. So when my friends asked me what my holiday plans are they got a small surprise: I told them I have readings to do.
Reading? Yes. Reading, more specifically a few religious books that I am keen on reading (and have been for quite some time) alas, time was something I used on all those assignments and papers and exams...Finally I have time to read: for personal comfort, not for papers or the like. Reading and spending time alone to meditate.
I finally get to sit down with a warm cup of tea in hand and just read. So with that, I thought I'd let you in on what I am reading in no particular order:
"The Case for Faith" by Lee Strobel
"The Case for Christ" by Lee Strobel
"How to Read the Bible for all it's Worth" by Gordon Fee & Douglas Stuart
"A Life God Rewards" by Dr. Bruce Wilkinson
NOTE: Eric,Josey and Chris.H Thanks for recommending and getting me the books!
I may post thoughts on what I've read here or I might not (I forgot to bring "Practice in the Presence of God" by Brother Lawrence home with me). We'll see since I'll be busy being quiet and reading and drinking tea ^__^
I wish you all a very safe and Merry Christmas and a Great New Year!
My Warmest Regards,
TKO
