Memories of a Dear Friend
Hi Everybody:
I know it's a little to early to be talking about memories at the beginning of a term...but I guess every story has to start somewhere right?
"Thomas, what does a red apple mean? and why are you crying?"
Well...I think of a friend of mine every time I think of red apples, she was just the one person who always made me laugh, she was special to me and everybody that knows her can attest to the fact that she is special. (And she still is) she was always the one who had wisdom tucked away somewhere...it was just funny because a lot of things remind me of her.
Because I think of her and the rest is easy. I will always remember her making me laugh and me reacting like a monkey--and her telling me "Thomas you are too--animated!" I feel so sad and yet happy...do you ever get that? I remember laughing and wondering why I am crying so hard at home.
When I am cooking at home and bounce around the kitchen I could almost picture you telling me:
"Thomas , stop being so freaking Chinese!"
It's weird because at church there was some guy that said to a group of people they supposely: "Brothers are supposed to share amongst brothers and sisters are just among sisters"
I remember my sentiment to that was: "Is that guy from the 1950s?"
Well, if the tears welling up in my eyes are any indication, I'll say he's wrong.
This term is tough because it is my final term. But there is one thought that crosses my mind:
"People are missing their marbles....(fill in the blank Cutie)"
Every time I think of you there will be an empty seat...and no matter how hard I look I know you won't be there. And for once I'll just have one apple in my hand...instead of two.
I might not be around to talk as often as I would have liked, and tears are coming again.
Everytime I think of you I think of a smile and a laugh. I wish I had the courage to tell you how much you are cherished and missed, how empty is it when I laugh and cry at the same time. I realized how much you meant to me and all I can do is laugh.
Of course, Cutie this isn't goodbye, because you will always be special to me and I'll always think of you in my heart. I believe that good friends never really part.
I wish I had the courage to say that I have beaten my greatest fears,
But while I am working on it, I hope I have no tears,
Because my Dear friend, I have you to Thank... and I will always cherish that you were near.
Thank you for being here for me, and making me laugh.
You brightened up my life, and taken a path before me.
Thank You for being the the Apple of my eyes, and the Sunshine in my heart.
I hope someday I'll meet you again and laugh about old times, for now, my Dear I bid you adieu.
I hope I have another chance to make you laugh as much you made me laugh.
I know I'll always miss you and I'll always cherish your friendship...
Now if I could only tell myself to stop crying, I hope one day...one day, I'll be back to make you laugh.
Signing off,
TKO
